Came to America in 1865, lived for a time in Milwaukee.
Married Anna Arneson in Minneapolis.
Moved to Otter Tail county in 1869 and homesteaded 176 acres in Dane Prairie township.
Died in 1900 at age eighty.
Ardent Republican and a founder of the Swan Lake Lutheran church.
Seven children.
