Born in New York, brought to Dubuque County in 1834 as a child by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Roger McNamara.
One of Dubuque's oldest settlers and among its oldest living pioneer miners.
Later a prosperous farmer, then retired in the city of Dubuque at 57 West Third Street.
Served eight years as county supervisor.
Democrat.
Wife survived.
