Born in Pennsylvania about 1769, son of a colonel in the Revolutionary army of German birth.
Settled in Perry County, Ohio in 1817, entered 160 acres, built a two-story log house and large log barn.
A mechanic who made most of his household furniture and planted a large orchard.
Active Presbyterian.
Died 1852.
