Grew to manhood there, located in Orangeville, PA, farmed six years, then emigrated to Ohio in 1836, settling in Cass township, Richland County.
Purchased 40 acres on the Huron county line.
Farm grew to 186 acres.
Whig, then Abolitionist and Republican.
Married Jane (Valk).
Had six children.
