Came to the United States at nine months old, family settled in Clermont County, Ohio, then Perry Township (138 acres on the East Fork of the Little Miami River).
Married 1861 at Fayetteville to Mary Andriot.
Opened a general store in Fayetteville Feb. 1869.
Three daughters: Mary and Leona (twins), and Matilda.
