The short version: we use what you send us only to reply to you and, if you hire us, to research your family. We don't sell it, we don't share it for marketing, and we'll delete it if you ask.
What we collect
Only what you choose to type into one of our forms:
- Your name, email address, and (if you give it) your phone number.
- Family details you choose to share, such as the names, dates, and places of parents, grandparents, and other relatives.
- The page you were on when you sent the form, so we know which family you were looking at.
Site analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across other sites, and doesn't collect your name, email, or anything you type into a form. We don't use advertising pixels or tracking cookies.
How it reaches us
Our forms are delivered by a form service called FormSubmit, which passes your message to our email inbox. Your information is stored in that inbox, not in a separate database.
How we use it
- To reply to you and set up a call if you'd like one.
- If you hire us, to research your family under a written agreement.
We never sell your information, rent it, or share it with anyone for marketing. We don't add you to a mailing list.
Living relatives
You may tell us about relatives who are still living. We use that only privately, to connect your family to the historical record. Our public site lists deceased people only, and nothing you send us is ever published on it.
Public records on this site
The searchable database and family pages are compiled from public records and public-domain books about people who have died. If you believe a record is wrong, or you'd like a record about your own family member removed, email us and we'll review it.
Deleting your information
Email [email protected] and ask us to delete what you sent. We'll remove it and confirm by reply. If you're a client, we keep what the agreement requires until the project is finished, then delete it on request.
