Moved to Richland county at the outbreak of the War of 1812, entering 160 acres in section 4, township 20, range 18 on 11 June 1813.
Owned land in Washington township.
Erected reputedly the first sawmill in Richland county c.1816.
Township trustee (1814, 1815) and first chairman of Washington township trustees (1816).
Died 2 April 1835 in his 75th year.
Father of thirteen children.
