Biographical and genealogical history of Appanoose and Monroe counties, Iowa.
Native of Ohio.
Came to Iowa in 1836 settling at Burlington, moved to Jefferson County three years later (1839), resided there until 1853 when he went to California during the gold rush, living on the Pacific slope for twenty years.
Died in Monroe County, Iowa at age 86.
He and wife Margery (Roberts) had ten children, three living at time of writing.
