Father removed to Rensselaer Co., NY in 1864 and to Spottsylvania Co., Virginia in 1868.
Married Frances Walker of Rensselaer Co., NY on April 11, 1866.
Six children, son John R. died in infancy.
Lived in Virginia ~3 years, then Washington D.C. (1 year), then Newark, N.J.
Came to Faulk County in 1884, located a pre-emption on NE quarter sec.
18, twp 119, range 69, plus a tree-claim quarter section.
Moved to Faulkton in fall 1891.
Owned 320 acres.
