Native of County Clare, Ireland.
Left Ireland 1835, landed at Quebec, spent three years, came to McHenry County, Ill. in 1838 and took up a claim in Greenwood Township.
Bought 280 acres in 1840, eventually owned 640 acres.
First wife Catherine Short (died age 34).
Second wife Mary Griffin.
Died April 11, 1888.
Johanna married P. J. Nolan (Hartland Township).
Margaret died in infancy.
Thomas P. died aged 67.
John J. and Edward L. by second wife.
