Born in Norway, came to America as a youth, educated in Chicago.
Served the Norwegian Methodist church in St. Paul and was presiding elder six years.
Preaches in both English and Norwegian.
Married in 1888 to Hannah Bernson of Minneapolis.
Daughters Ruth (a school teacher) and Gertrude (attends school).
Also adopted an orphan boy.
