In 1879 went to Saunders County, Nebraska on railroad land for five years, then returned to Jasper County, Iowa, later to Manilla, Crawford County.
Ran a vehicle and harness business seven years.
Bought 80 acres in Jefferson township, Shelby County, moved there 1894.
Retired to Manilla fall of 1913.
