Born October 14, 1836 in the village of Erisingen, Grand Duchy of Luxemburg.
Youngest of eight children (four boys, four girls).
Came to America in 1856 at age twenty, living near Dacada, Wisconsin.
Came to Marysville, Kansas in 1859, working one year at R. Y. Shibley's sawmill, then homesteaded in the northwest corner of Marysville township (family home for 47 years).
General farmer and stockman.
Marshall County pioneer.
