Born near Zurich, Switzerland, September 20, 1874, son of Gottfried and Elizabeth (Hess) Kuhn.
Educated at Wallisellen public schools, the Gymnasium at Zurich, and the college at Neuchatel.
Connected with a wholesale silk house at Zurich.
Emigrated to New York City, then came to Dubuque and entered the German Theological Seminary.
Post-graduate study at University of Chicago and University of Zurich.
Entered the ministry in fall 1899 doing city mission work at St. Louis, Missouri.
Married Miss Odelia Stilz in 1902 at St. Paul, Minnesota, while pastor of the Bethlehem church.
Secretary of the Western Publishing Company.
