Married Mr. Ham (owner of 25,000 acres along the river near Eagle Point, Dubuque.
Landing known as Ham Landing) in Lexington, Kentucky, having been the sweetheart of his boyhood.
He returned to Knoxville in 1837 then went to Lexington to marry her and brought her to Dubuque.
They kept 'open house'.
Guests included Mrs. Harriet Beecher Stowe.
Zerelda died in 1856.
Her husband died in 1889.
Four children.
