First conductor to run a train over the Lehigh Valley road.
Went to Illinois in the 1840s.
Served as an officer in the Mexican War.
Took up saw-milling in Madison County, Ill., later farmed in Christian County, Ill.
Retired 1893 and removed to Chicago, where he died Feb. 27, 1899.
Son Edwin J. was killed by a runaway team of mules.
James J. and Elizabeth were twins.
John R. deceased.
