Regarded as the pioneer physician of the county and the first medical graduate to settle in the section.
Native of Ireland, graduated in medicine at the University of Glasgow.
Came to America as a young man and settled in Olive Township about 1816, near what became the village of Olive.
Extensive practice.
Died at his home in Olive Township October 1851.
Father of several sons, three of whom became physicians.
