Pioneer farmer and stockman of Reno Township, Leavenworth County, Kansas.
Emigrated to the US in 1849 with his sister Bridget.
Lived in New York (4 yrs), Ohio (1 yr), Illinois (8 yrs), then came to Leavenworth County in 1867 and bought 160 acres, later expanding to 550 acres.
Married Johanna O'Connell March 3, 1862 in Illinois.
Built a nine-room house in 1883.
Specialized in feeding and shipping cattle.
Catholic.
Celebrated golden wedding in 1912.
Siblings: Patrick, James, John, Bridget, Ellen, Matthew (of Stevens, Kansas), Thomas.
NOTE: the pioneer son, distinct from his father Dennis O'Dea Sr. of Ireland.
