Came to Buckskin township, Ross county, Ohio with his father in 1814.
Succeeded his father on the homestead, died there 1876 owning more than 600 acres.
Presbyterian.
First wife Christine (a Virginian, emigrated to Fayette county, Ohio, died 1847, mother of four children).
Second wife Lydia Stout of Fayette county, who survived him and left six children, five living.
