Served in Prussian army in the Colberg Regiment on the Baltic Sea.
Emigrated 1867, landed Quebec July 13, 1867, then to Chicago and Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin (to March 12, 1869), then settled on farm in Franklin township, Allamakee County, Iowa.
Developed an unimproved tract into one of the finest farms in the vicinity.
Died 1899, past 82 years of age.
Parents of four children.
