Enlisted 1864 in Company E, 134th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, served four months in Virginia.
Lumberman then farmer.
Bought 80 acres in Blanchard township in 1878.
Married Sophronia Schoonover in 1871.
Eight children born, seven living.
United Brethren church.
