Born April 13, 1813 near Wheeling at Pughtown, Hancock County, then part of Virginia.
Came to Ohio 1837, entered 40 acres of wild land in Lykens township, built a log cabin.
Later moved 1862 to Cranberry township buying 320 acres, also owned land in Huron County and near Crestline.
Died December 22, 1888.
Republican.
Member of the Christian church, served as trustee in Lykens township.
Eight children, six living.
