Born 1820 in England.
Came to America with parents in 1823, locating in Orleans County, Vermont.
Sawyer, later worked in sash and door factory.
At 27 moved to Horicon, Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Served in Civil War, Company C, 29th Wisconsin Infantry, three years.
Later at Janesville WI, Chicago, Lyon County MN (homestead near Marshall), and in 1882 came to Otter Tail County near Pelican Rapids to farm.
