Born Sept. 13, 1817 in Oswego County, N.Y.
Remained there until 1836, then emigrated to LaPorte County, Indiana for three years before returning to New York.
Came to Harrison County, Iowa in fall 1878, settled at Woodbine, then in spring 1879 moved to a forty-acre farm on section 22, Boyer Township, where he built a frame house.
Farmer.
Democrat.
Member of the Masonic fraternity.
Married Morgeanna Rathbun in Otsego County, N.Y. in 1844.
Youngest of eight children (four sons, four daughters).
