Born July 24, 1812.
Maternal grandfather of Theodore H. Dingman.
At age seven accompanied his father to Burkes Garden, Tazewell county, Virginia.
Married Nancy T. Ward in 1837.
Became resident of Hancock county, Illinois in 1842.
Came with a colony of Mormons to Pottawattamie county in 1846 (one of Garner township's first settlers), traveling by team and wagon to Council Bluffs (then called Kanesville).
Removed to Neola in his last years.
