Came to Illinois prior to 1835, then to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, where he died in 1842 at age 52.
Wife Jane Dunnavan Snyder passed away in 1844.
Both members of the Methodist Episcopal church.
Family of eight children, of whom Henry Miller was the eldest.
