Born March 29, 1805 in Hillsboro County, N.H., son of A. Spaulding.
Moved to Windham County, Vt. in 1816 (father died there).
To Massachusetts 1822, Maryland 1829, Philadelphia.
Granite stonecutter and railroad builder.
Came to Athens County, Ohio in 1840 as farmer.
Married March 1836 to Melinda Parr (native of Adams County, Pa.).
Eight children, five living.
Son Eli died at age 21.
Melinda died Jan. 1870.
Married July 1872 to Mrs. Sidney Bay, who died Jan. 1873.
