Rev. Joseph Swanson, pastor of the Colfax Swedish Lutheran church from March 1876 until fall 1880.
Native of Sweden, came to America in his youth, located in Illinois where he married Betty (Elizabeth) Anderson.
In 1875 located on section 13, Colfax township.
Licensed to preach, served the Swedish Lutheran churches of Colfax township and Manson 1876-1880.
In 1885 located on section 14 where he died in 1895 at age 58 (born ~1837).
Left nine children who owned and occupied the section 14 home.
