Came to Wapello County, Iowa in 1851.
Established the Amador postoffice in 1885 and was postmaster until his death Oct 21, 1899.
Also ran a grocery store there for his last 18 years.
Wife Mary Hendrickson born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania.
Seven children, all living and mostly farmers.
