The Bowyer Families of Warren County, Ohio

Three pioneer households around Mason, Deerfield and Union Townships · 8 people named in the record

The 1882 History of Warren County sketches three Bowyer households in the southwest corner of the county, around Mason, and it never says how they are related. John Bowyer, born near the Redstone Country of Pennsylvania in 1786, and his wife Jane Sheplar were early pioneers of Deerfield Township; their son James spent five years boating on the Ohio and Mississippi, held militia ranks up to colonel, and ran a tile factory on 360 acres west of Mason. Stephen Bowyer Jr., born in Virginia in 1792, came to Deerfield Township with his father Stephen, and his son John W. Bowyer was still farming in 1882 in the house where he was born in 1835. Every fact below is cited to the public-domain 1882 history of Warren County.
