The Larson Families of Buena Vista County, Iowa

Three separate Swedish households: a Maple Valley farmer, a Fairfield Township farmer and an Albert City banker · 4 people named in the record

The 1909 history of Buena Vista County sketches three Larson households, all from Sweden, and never connects them, so each is kept apart here. Peter Larson, born in 1851, came to Illinois at eighteen, worked eight years as a farm hand, and in 1879 bought the 160 acres on section 29 of Maple Valley Township that he still farmed in 1909. Louis E. Larson, born in 1862, came with his parents Andrew and Anna Larson, who settled on raw prairie in Fairfield Township in 1888 after nine years in the coal mines at Centerville; Louis inherited the farm, doubled it to 320 acres, and married Hulda Eckman in 1890. C. E. Larson, born in 1867, clerked and banked at Marathon from 1890 and became cashier of the Security Savings Bank of Albert City in 1905. Every fact below is cited to the public-domain 1909 history of Buena Vista County.
