JOHN M. NICHOLS, general agent of the Wells-Fargo Express Company, was born at Webster, Ind., November 11, 1849. He came to St. Joseph in 1870, and was employed by the Wells-Fargo Express Company for seven years. Then he was for a year with the American Express Company, and from 1888 till 189s served the Pacific Company. In 1895 he was appointed general agent a St. Joseph for the Wells-Fargo Company, the position he now holds. Mr. Nichols was married in Hiawatha, Kan., in December, 1872, to Miss Esther J. Olds, and they have three children.
