Born in Maryland in 1801.
Came as a boy with his parents to Ohio and was raised to farm life.
Married Keziah Wilson, daughter of Samuel Wilson (an old settler of Muskingum county from England, near Shannon).
Settled in the woods near Frazeysburg, buying/entering about 160 acres in 1828 which he cleared.
Died February 1883 at age 73.
Earnest member of the Baptist church.
