Married 1872 to Belle M. Anderson of Muskingum County.
Member Second Street Methodist Episcopal church.
Charter member Muskingum Brick Company.
Siblings among 11 children (7 living): Mrs. Matilda Golding (Burlington, Iowa), Mrs. Amanda K. Parsons (Lafayette, Ind.), Oscar (Watseka, Ill.), Edward (Burlington, Iowa), Llewellyn and Frank (Burlington, Iowa).
His mother, the widow, died 1890 in her 87th year.
