Descended from an old Virginia family.
Witnessed the burning of Washington in the War of 1812.
Moved to Morrow, Warren Co., Ohio in youth, married Sarah Thompson there.
11 children (six sons, five daughters).
Came to Henry County 1851, settled Tippecanoe Township.
Died spring of 1880.
Second marriage to Mrs. Damaris Alden produced 4 children (Julia, Edwin, Alice P., Jennie).
